If you are new to my blog, I’ve started an experiment (so to speak) to see if it’s possible to lose weight doing Weight Watchers by tracking inches instead of pounds. Each week I share my progress, inches, and pictures. Keep reading if you want to see how I did on week two!
Week Two Measurements
As I mentioned in my starting post, I’m only tracking inches lost at this point. I use a digital body tape measure from Health O Meter as it’s more accurate than a regular tape measure. I take 3 measurements of each area to make sure I’m being as accurate as possible. Here are my measurements for week two:
Lessons Learned During Week Two
I had mixed emotions about my progress this week. I went back up on my waist but lost in other areas, and maintained the rest. I have to admit I’m not overly shocked at my progress because of how my week went. I wrote in last week’s game plan, that I would be starting the 30 Day Shred and planning my meals ahead of time. Well, I am going to be honest and tell you that I didn’t succeed in any of those areas. I actually didn’t get any workouts in and I was slacking big time on my food planning and journaling.
Normally, I would use this as an excuse to through in the towel, but not this time around. This is a journey and I’m human. That means it’s not always going to be done perfectly and that’s ok. Sometimes life really does get in the way of our goals and successes. The important part is taking a step back and figuring out how you can do better next week.
Progress Pictures for Week Two
I really don’t notice much in this weeks progress pictures. I swear I hate taking and posting these. I’m hoping months from now I’ll have a really cool slide show to document my progress and it will be worth the embarrassment.
The White Winter Coat
I touched upon this in last weeks post. I have this white winter coat that I got back in 2009 when I was losing a lot of weight for my wedding. Yea, this pic was taken on Valentines Day 2010 when it actually fit!
I tried my coat on in December and couldn’t button it at all. AT ALL! I was mortified that I had allowed myself to get so out of control, AGAIN! I did try it on last week and it buttons but it’s really tight and not at all flattering to wear out in public. That means I’m making progress! I’m using this coat as a measuring tool to track my progress. Forget the pounds ladies, it’s all about how your clothes fit! Oh and forget about skinny jeans, just try on your winter coat to see how much weight you’ve gained or lost. It doesn’t lie!
Game Plan for Week Three
- Measure, weigh, and portion out ALL of my food.
- Track every single thing I eat in my Weight Watchers journal.
- Start the 30 Day Shred workout plan. For real this time!
- Drink 100 ounces of water, daily.
- Mediate each morning to clear my head. A clear mind is free of anxiety and that means you won’t “crave” mindless eating.
- Stay positive no matter what!
- Keep reminding myself that I’m still not like I was during my Medusa days. I’m nowhere near that size and the dark place that it was, mentally. I’ve still come so far and can do this.
