The joys of wedding planning. Decision after decision. After the menu has been selected, the songs picked out, and the dress has been ordered you still need to figure out how YOU are going to look! After all, this day is all about you, the bride.
Most brides have a vision of their special day and how they want to look. Although when it comes down to reality that vision might be different. Just like all the other details, your hair should resemble you and your unique personality.
Things to Think About
When looking at inspiration pics and selecting your hairstyle here are some factors to consider:
- The shape of your face.
- The neckline of your dress. For example, a one shoulder looks best with a side do.
- Are you wearing a veil? If so, what kind of veil? Birdcage, cathedral, blusher?
- The length of your hair. Although if it’s short or thin, no worries. There are extensions!
Resources
There are lots of resources both online and in print to gather pics for your hair stylist. One of my favorites is Project Wedding. They have galleries by topic that allow you to save pics right to your account. Check out the Hair Gallery here.
Mimi’s Hair?
I want to go for a low chignon style that is pulled a little to the side with a bump. I want to have my bangs to give it some extra style. I am wearing a veil and want to have some sort of blingy hair accessory for the reception. I am wearing a slight sweetheart neckline and my hair is mid shoulder length. Although, I am planning on getting extensions for extra length and fullness.
My Inspiration Pics
These are a few that I’ve gathered. Let me know what you think!
A Classic Chignon with side swept bangs.
A simple side ponytail with a poof.
The gorgeous Rosie Mercado. I really love her look here.
Simple but pretty.
Vanessa Hudgens. I like this look but not as “messy” for a wedding day style.
♥ Love this one!

I like 2 and 3 the most. I personally am a ‘hair down’ kinda gal, but I do like 3 as well. 🙂
I love looking at hair styles!!
Hi there! I saw your post at 20SB and followed the link on over. Love your blog!
I love the hair pics. Coincidentally enough, I brought the last pic with me a few weeks ago when I was getting my hair done as a bridesmaid. I loved it! The poof deflated a little bit as the evening wore on which actually worked out pretty well cause it’s a poof and a half. 🙂
I love all the hairstyles.
Im getting married in 2 months and still havent decided how I am going to do my hair, ugg lol
Thanks for stopping by my blog!
I love the first hair do. I want something similar to this, but maybe only half up. I still have a long time to decide though…

I love the side ponytail one! Mine is going to be down, with extensions to add length and volume, and will be wavy! I have been having a hard time finding a hairstyle for my bridesmaids though so I’m so glad you put up that hair gallery!
I always loved doing my own hair for prom and stuff….These are pretty picks….I just love weddings….an excuse to get all dolled up:)
