I’m in the process of reviewing my floral proposal, which has caused me to take the Floral 101 crash course! Flowers can put a major dent in your wedding budget, so it’s good to know what you are getting yourself into!


This is the flower combination we are looking at for our floral arrangements:

  • Vendella Cream Roses
  • Spicy Orange Roses
  • Deep Purple Vanda Orchids

Bouquets

These are carried by the Bride, the Maid/Matron of Honor, and the Bridesmaids. Obviously, the bride should have a bouquet that stands out from the rest that symbolizes she is the bride.
For my Fall/Halloween wedding, I am looking at a bouquet of Vendella Cream Roses, Spicy Roses, accented with deep purple Vanda Orchids.
My “maids” will have bouquets of Spicy Roses. I’m working on something a little bit different for my MOH.

Boutonnieres & Corsages
Boutonnieres (literally means Button Hole in French!) are equivalent to the female corsage and ties the groom, groomsmen, ring bearers, coin bearer, and fathers into the theme of the wedding party flowers. Just like the bride’s bouquet, the grooms boutonniere should be different from the rest.

My Groom will wear a single Cream Rose combined with a Vanda Orchid.  The rest of the wedding party will wear Spicy Roses with the Vanda Orchids.


Corsages should be purchased for the Mother of the Bride and Groom, Grandmothers, and any other important female figures. They will also wear a corsage of Spicy Orange Roses and Vanda Orchids.

Pomander Balls
Our church does not allow the throwing of petals, real or fake. We are going to have our 3 flower girls carry Pomander Balls. They will be Spicy Orange and possibly mixed with another color.
