Summer is over and the holidays are coming. There are FOUR months left in the year. How are you going to spend them? Are you going to throw in the towel and say “I’ll start over in January?” How many more holiday seasons are you going to choose pumpkin shaped chocolate over your happiness?

The seasons come and go. Always. How many more are you willing to waste waiting on the weight? How many more years have to roll by before you decide enough is enough?

When are you going to have time to lose the weight? When are you going to make yourself a priority?  That’s what we’re talking about on the Irresistible You Podcast this week.

How did you spend your summer? Did you spend it hiding inside the house because you refused to put a swimsuit on? Did you spend it sweating because you refused to wear shorts? How much fun did you actually have? Did you tell yourself it doesn’t matter because NEXT summer you’ll finally be at your goal weight?

I spent a lot of summers doing just that. Hiding. Not enjoying all that the season has to offer.

Listen. The seasons come and go. Always. How many more are you willing to waste waiting on the weight? How many more years have to roll by before you decide enough is enough?

There are FOUR full months of 2019 left. How are you going to spend them? Are you going to throw in the towel and say “I’ll start over in January?” 

WTF does January have to do with anything? Why would you WASTE another four months? You could be a different person by then. 

I know what will happen when you don’t take action. I know because I’ve lived it. Now that the weather starts cooling off, you’ll hide in your black leggings, sipping your pumpkin spice latte, wearing over sized tunics ( no shade/this is my fall uniform lol) while disconnecting from your body and your weight. The change of seasons gives you an excuse to hide your body and stay in denial while promising yourself, you’ll start over Jan 1st.

Then you’ll use the holidays …(aka all of October, November and December) as an excuse as to why now isn’t a good time to lose the weight…the emotional weight and the physical weight. Now isn’t a good time to invest in yourself because presents, dinners, & all the things you have to buy. Why are you willing to give so much to everyone else and nothing to yourself??? Now isn’t the right time because you’re too busy with the holidays to spend time working on YOU. 

Why wasn’t summer the right time then? It doesn’t matter what season it is. You’ll keep using the seasons/holiday as an excuse for not making the decision to take control of your life. There is no “perfect” time. If you don’t learn how to drop the emotional weight when times are hectic, if you don’t learn how to manage your thoughts about food and your body during the holidays, this yo-yo diet/body hate shame cycle will never end. #RealTalk
