As I get ready for 2015 and am working to plan my best year of blogging yet, I wanted to see what my most read blog posts were in 2014. I think it’s kind of funny because a lot of these posts were not written in 2014 nor are they about emotional eating or my weight loss journey.
What that tells me is that either you or random people searching on Google and Pinterest love round up posts and DIY tutorials. What that also tells me is that my other posts aren’t getting as much traffic as they should and that’s partially my fault. Let me explain.
Last year, I spent A LOT of time building up my pet blog, Irresistible Pets. It paid off because my traffic over there more than tripled in 2014! I kind of put this blog on “hold” and didn’t stick to a regular posting schedule. I even tossed around the idea of shutting this site down completely but that just didn’t sit well with me. There’s a nagging voice in the back of my head that won’t let me quit. Like I mentioned in my last post, I don’t give up easily.
I guess it’s been easier to churn out content on my other site because on this blog, it’s more personal. It’s vulnerable. It’s uncomfortable at times. BUT, knowing that sharing my story has helped someone else is the most incredible feeling in the world and I want more of that.
I don’t know yet how I’m going to balance it all but I’m determined to make it happen. I know that when my mind is determined, I go into beast mode so watch out world! On that note, here are the top ten blog posts from 2014 based on page views:
