I know it’s hot as hell out there. And everyone knows that I despise the heat! No, I really hate the heat. And it seems like here in Virginia Beach, we go straight from Winter to 90 degree days. Spring? What the hell is that?!?!

But, that is not an excuse to quit exercising and burning calories. You can do it all indoors with the ice cold AC blowing. Ahhh, much better 🙂

I know everyone wants to get outdoors after months of cold weather. But, sometimes the heat is just too much to bare. We want to sweat but not have a heat stroke! Not everyone has access or funds for a gym membership. I have put together my top workouts to help beat the heat!

Here are my Top 5 Workouts to Beat the Heat! 

1. Work Out: On Demand
If you don’t belong to a gym, you can still work out from home. I preach this all the time. I LOVE doing workouts On Demand. If you have On Demand with your cable service, there are tons of free workouts. On my service, it’s called Exercise TV. I love this because it allows me to try things that I may have never signed up for in a gym. Ah hem; Zumba!

2. Wii Fit
I’m still asking Santa for one of these bad boys! What fun it is to work out with your lova, friends, or family. Not only are you burning calories, but you are having FUN! Plus, you can have Wii Fit parties and competitions! Wooo Hooo

3. Workout DVD’s
I always recommend having a few favorite workout DVD’s around the house. Not only can you workout at home, you can also take these along on your summer vacation. What? You think it’s crazy to workout on vacation?!? Remember, it’s a lifestyle change, not a temporary fix.

And as you all know, anything by Jillian Michaels is my favorite! Especially, the 30 Day Shred.

4. Dance, Dance, Dance!
Why not kill two birds with one stone? Go out for a night of dancing. It is fun, you get to get all dolled up, and you burn some serious calories. I LOVE going out to the Salsa club. One of my fav things to do!

5. Just Keep Swimming
Swimming is a great way to stay cool and burn calories during the summer. If you have access to a pool, move your workouts under water. Seriously.  Plus, swimming is a low impact sport so it’s great for anyone with an injury or bad joints.

Did You Know?
If you weigh 150 pounds and swim at moderate intensity, you will burn around 600 calories per hour!
