Traditional diets don’t teach you what you really need to know. Keto diets and detoxes don’t teach you how to lose the emotional weight. This is exactly why you stay stuck on the yo-yo diet/body hate shame cycle….starting over every single Monday but yet expecting different results. You’ll never get the real results you want without these five things.
Here are five things that diets don’t teach you.
1.How To Silence the Inner Fat Bitch
The inner fat bitch is that inner voice telling you how fat and disgusting you are. Telling you that you’ll never be worth a damn. That you’ll never be good enough. This inner fat bitch voice is the queen of self-sabotage. She is holding you back, making you believe that those thoughts and stories are true. When you lack self-love and self-worth, the inner fat bitch will always self-sabotage because she’s looking for a reason to prove that the way you feel and the things you say are the absolute truth.
2. How To Gain Confidence
Diets don’t teach you anything about how to gain confidence. They will you with a false sense of confidence that only exists when the scale goes down or you drop a pant size. Confidence doesn’t just show up. Confidence is built. Confidence is earned. When you take action you alleviate anxiety, overwhelm, and self-sabotage. Confidence comes in the doing. Taking imperfect action is the number one way to gain confidence and shut down the self-sabotage.
3. How To Find Pleasure and Happiness in Life…
Without relying on food as a source of entertainment. Diets don’t teach you how to find your happy place. Diets don’t teach you how to have an identity outside of your weight. You have to get in touch with who you are and what makes you happy. You have to create an identity outside of your weight and the food.
4. How To Be in the Moment and Appreciate Your Body
Diets are rooted in basing your happiness and success on some future date if and when you get to goal weight. You wrap up your entire identify and future into this imaginary number. What if that number never comes? What if it comes but you haven’t done the 5 steps I’m telling you that you’re missing? You’ll be thin but still have the inner fat bitch chattering in your head non stop.
You have to learn how to be in the moment and appreciate the body you have now. This is about experiencing the emotions that come in this journey that you’ve been avoiding with the the shiny new diet distraction.
5. How To Dress For The Body You Have Now
Diets don’t teach you to take pride in your appearance and dress for the body you have right now. That’s because they want you to feel not good enough. They want you to only feel good enough when you get to goal weight. If you want to build confidence and show yourself some love, you need to take care of and dress for the body you have now.
Even if you’re uncomfortable wearing shorts because you don’t love your legs…do it anyways! You don’t gain confidence by hiding. Goal weight is not a prerequisite for loving yourself and dressing in a way that makes you feel irresistible.
There you have it. These are the five things that traditional diets don’t teach you. But, I do! That’s right! I just gave you my five guiding principles in the Irresistible You framework.
