Posts like these are the exact reason I don’t schedule anything for this blog. I want this blog to be authentic, raw, real emotions about my weight loss journey. I pretty much only write when I get an overwhelming urge to purge the banter in my brain. I think it works better that way for this type of blog.

My husband says I have a long list of pet peeves because I will start a conversation like this, “You know what my pet peeve is?” LOL

Yes, I’m guilty. Come on, people do a plethora of annoying ass shit! How can I not have a long list?! ha!

Well, this is right up there with the top 5 pet peeves for sure.

Let me just put it out there in black and white:

I HATE when “skinny” girls say the following things:

  • Do I look fat?
  • Does this make me look fat?
  • I look so fat.
  • I feel so fat.

Or any other combination of an insecure line that is intended to be an underhanded insult to you and a pathetic ploy to  compliment them.

Now, there are times between good friends when we need an honest opinion. That is NOT what I’m talking about.

I’m talking about when your “friend” or as I should call them, acquaintance, is ridiculously thin. I’m talking I can see your bones and you wear a size 2 thin.

I on the other hand teeter totter from a size 12 to a size 16 on any given day, week, month, or time in my life. I have birthing hips, huge boobs, and yes just like Bridget Jones said, I have a few “jiggly parts.”

So when your size 2 ass says to my size 14 (wide and plump) ass, “I look so fat.”

I want to bitch slap you. I have no sympathy for you. It’s pathetic that you are so insecure to stoop so low for a compliment. I also find it offensive, rude, and insulting. If you call your skin and bones fat, what the fuck do I look like to you?

See girls that do this want everyone around them to say, (in your best ditzy Kardashian ‘esk voice) “OMG girl you are totally not fat! What are you talking about! I would love to have your body!”

Or if you are fat, they want to hear, “NOOOOO, I’m the one who is fat! Not you!!!

I on the other hand will not respond to you like this. I will either do one of three things:

1. Ignore your comment

2. Agree with you

3. Give you a piece of my mind about why you’re really doing that

I’ve noticed over the years (and I have a lot of experience in this area, believe me) that these skinny girls think that they are above you if you’re fat. They make these “I’m fat” statements for a way to feel better about themselves and quite frankly to insult you. I’ve noticed in most cases they lack self-esteem, confidence, and aren’t happy with their lives.

I’ve had this happen to me a lot. I’ve also had “friends” that did this on a regular basis.

Let me get something straight. Nobody is better than anyone else because of their size, weight, or shape.

It’s also not cute to shame your body with the hopes of getting some kind of fake compliment in exchange for it.

Being overweight or “fat” is not the worst thing in the world.

And NO I’m not jealous that you wear a size 2. I like curves and have no intention or goal of ever being that thin.

You’d look a lot cuter and I might like you if you go out and get yourself some confidence.

Rant Over.
