What makes a moment in our lives meaningful? Can you honestly look back over the past year and smile at all the memories you made?

I just finished working on a photo book of my Chihuahua, Chuy’s first year (he’s turning 3 in June, so I was a little behind!). This forced me to dig up pics from almost 2 years ago that I haven’t looked at in some time. Some of the pics I hadn’t even looked at before! Yea, crazy. I know!

My Husband and Chuy! My Loves!

It brought back waves of emotions. When we got Chuy, I had just gotten engaged the day before and life was: HAPPY! I can honestly say the time I spent planning my wedding was truly the time of my life.

My wedding day was beautiful and everything I dreamed it would be. I was living on a high of pure bliss!

Then, the party was over, the guests went home, and reality slapped me in the face. Hard!

2011 came and presented me with intense challenges and changes. Not only was I married, I quit my job (of 7 years) and was adjusting to working from home and trying to start my own business. It’s been an uphill battle but one that’s worth fighting. I refuse to give up!

The challenges I experienced caused me to get depressed, which caused me to gain back all the weight I worked so hard to lose before my wedding. Then the weight gain fueled the depression and vice versa. It’s a vicious cycle.

Ok, so what’s my point here? This is supposed to be talking about my most memorable moment from the past year!

I never thought I’d see the sunshine again. My days had become dreary and miserable. I’m proud of myself for finding the courage, the will, the energy, and the determination to conquer my challenges and beat the depression to a bloody pulp.

Even through the tough times, I’m so grateful for all that we have. We were able to buy our first home last year and I got the opportunity to follow my dreams. I’m running my own social media management/blogging business and it feels amazing!

The Day We Closed on Our Home!

I’ve accepted that I am and will always be a work in progress. But, I’m worth investing in and so are you! My sprit has awakened and I’m ready for this next chapter of my life! That, for me, is meaningful.
