scar quote

I’m officially gallbladder free! Good riddance! I had my surgery last Thursday (3/28/13) and I’ve been home ever since, recovering. The first few days were brutal. Getting up and down hurt like hell and I needed help just to sit down!

The hospital and all the nurses/doctors were fantastic. I don’t remember much after they wheeled me back to the operating room. I suppose it’s better that way! I’m so grateful for my family and husband for being there through the whole thing! I love you all!!! Chuy hasn’t left my side since I came home. I really do believe our pets know when we are in pain.

I do remember asking if I was still alive when I woke up and asking for chapstick lol.

I’m still sore but nothing like the first few days. I’m still on limited activity and just when I think I can do anything I want, the pains from surgery remind me that I’m going to be slow for a few more weeks. I have 4 incisions on my stomach and the bellybutton one hurts the most. It sucks because I HATE sleeping on my back and that’s the only way I can sleep right now. Grrr. BUT, I can eat things other than soup and crackers! Yay.

this too shall pass

I’ve been extremely dizzy and nauseated the past 2 days so I’m hoping it will pass.

I’m slowly but surely getting back into the swing of things and officially go back to work tomorrow. I didn’t think it would be a big deal going back to work since I work from home, but when you are healing and recovering you just can’t function the same! I can’t wait to get my energy back and get into working out again and MY routine!

I just wanted to post a quick update but I have some other “gallbladder” related blogs coming soon.

Until then . . .

A few Instagrams from my surgery.
