For Valentine’s Day, I wanted to make something sweet for my sweetheart! Since we are both doing Weight Watchers, I thought this would save some Points! It’s a lot healthier than a box of chocolates and it’s way cuter and delish!
Each strawberry and marshmallow comes out to about 2 points each. The points may vary depending on how you make it.
DIY Chocolate Covered Strawberry & Marshmallow Bouquet
Ingredients Needed:
- Fresh Strawberries
- Large Marshmallows
- Milk Chocolate Chips
- White Chocolate Chips
- Sprinkles
- Bamboo Skewers
- Vase of your choice
- Floral Foam
Step One
Wash Strawberries and pat dry. You don’t want to get the chocolate wet as it will clump together and it won’t be good for dipping!
Step Two
Melt the chocolate after measuring them. I used about half a cup of each chocolate but probably actually used only 1/4 cup. I recommend warming them up in the microwave in 30 second intervals.
Step Three
Once the chocolate is melted, it’s time to dip! I hold the stems up and dip the strawberries into the melted chocolate. Feel free to dip them as much or as little as you would like. More chocolate the better!
Step Four
Stick the skewer into the dipped strawberry. Place them into an empty cup to dry. I didn’t take a pic of my strawberries drying, but here are the dipped marshmallows, I used as accents in the bouquet.
Step Five
Once the chocolate covered strawberries are somewhat dry, drizzle the white chocolate on top of the milk chocolate. I did this with half my bouquet to give it some variety. You could also do full white chocolate strawberries depending on your taste.
Step Six – Optional
I also used chocolate dipped marshmallows to accent my bouquet and give it some variety. The process is the same as the strawberries. However, after dipping the marshmallow in the chocolate, dip them into a bowl of sprinkles for extra “bling!”
Step Seven
Arrange your bouquet into the vase of your choice. I used a floral foam in my vase to keep the skewers sturdy. I would’ve preferred laying down something on top of it to hide the foam. Next time
Finished Product!
It should look something like this:
My husband was pleasantly surprised and we both really enjoyed the sweets! Feel free to add some balloons for extra love!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
