For years, I chased after a goal weight.

-I gotta lose all my weight this summer before the first day of school.
-I have to lose 20 pounds for prom.
-I have to lose 50 pounds before I try on a wedding dress.
-I have to lose 4 sizes before the cruise in two months.
-I need to lose 60 pounds before I can even think about getting pregnant.

What I didn't know back then was that it wasn't about the actual number on the scale that I craved. I craved the feeling that I thought would come from the weight loss:

-I don't want to feel invisible at school.
-I don't want to look the token fat girl in a sea of skinny girls at prom.
-I don't want to be humiliated when dressing shopping.
-I want to do all the fun shore excursions without worrying about a weight limit.
-I want people to notice I'm pregnant. I'm scared of gaining more weight.
