What does accountability mean to you? What does it have to do with body image, emotional eating, and weight loss? It has everything to do with those things! How many times have you started a weight loss journey and within a few days or maybe a few weeks you fall off the wagon? How many times do you start a project or a goal and the same thing happens? That’s because you’re missing one thing – accountability and support!
As awesome as you are, you and you alone are not enough to hold yourself accountable. That’s not because your not ambitious or able to do the thing. It’s because you are human!!!! Especially when you’re in a season of life where something needs the majority of your attention.
One of the things that has helped me be successful and meet my goals is having an accountability group with support. What should you look for in an accountability partner or group?
1. They Let You Vent
You need people that just get you. People that listen without judgement. People that listen without slapping your wrist or telling you what to do.
2. They Help You Snap Back to Reality
Just knowing that you have a weekly check-in, it mentally snaps you back to reality before you even get on a call or meet with them. This helps get you out of your own head! Plus, you can get everything out of your head so you gain clarity and re-prioritize your goals with your journey.
3. They Don’t Let You Down & Vice-Versa
When you commit your goals to someone else, you are more likely to follow through because you don’t want to let them down. In the podcast, I shared my experience of training for my first 5K. Check out these posts:

Putting yourself and your weight loss, body image, confidence goals first is critical if you really want to see transformation. Half assing it is never going to get you where you want to be. Accountability has to be part of that journey.
