I went shopping Friday night so I could pick up a few things for Spring. The dressing room can be a source of anxiety for me in my journey of yo-yo dieting. Especially right now when I’m not anywhere near my goal but desperately need new clothes for the warmer weather.

I picked out some shirts, skirts, jackets, and dresses all in a size XL. I was over the moon elated that NONE of the extra larges fit me! That’s right . . . they were TOO BIG!  I can’t tell you how liberating this feels unless it’s happened to you.

I was really shocked because I had been down about my weight on the scale. It hasn’t really budged in fact it’s gone up since my gallbladder surgery. I know logically to not let the scale determine my worth but sometimes that is easier said than done. It really does something to you emotionally.

I picked up this summer dress from Ross for $20 (originally $100!) and paired it with a new denim jacket from Kohls, on sale of course! I wore it to the wine festival on Saturday and had a blast!! You can see more pics on my Instagram @IrresistibleIcing

How do you measure your weight loss success besides using the scale?
