I’m not a football fan.  I usually end up watching the Super Bowl like every other American. Most of it having something to with the fact that I live with a man. 

The sad part is that when I think of Super Bowl, I think of food, not football:

  • Chicken Wings
  • Pizza
  • Spinach Dip
  • Chips
  • Cupcakes
  • Beer (Which I hate BTW. I am solely a “Bacardi n Diet” girl in case you ever need to buy me a drink!)

And basically anything else that one could gorge themselves on in one night.

For the past 2 weeks, I got the Weight Watchers and Hungry-Girl newsletters about how to eat those things on Super Bowl without going sky high on the points. Did I listen? Did I actually try? Did I make the alternatives?

The answer is a big, fat NO!!!!

I had a rough, stressful, and emotional week (and the red tide came..Ahhh!!!) So, I basically turn into the Tazmanian Devil when it comes to food! Seriously, yesterday was bad!

Breakfast and lunch were just fine. No snacking either. Lots of water. Then, the Fusband says, let’s order pizza.

I’m not a big pizza fan but that sounded awesome and it’s Super Bowl, so what the hell. Let’s do it. We went to this pizza joint that sells some of the best NYC style pizza in our area and it was absolutely delicious! We did a half and half. Pepperoni/Hawaiian (my fav!)

Pizza alone wasn’t enough. I had to through in an order of Bacon Cheddar Fries, dipped in ranch dressing. Mmmmmmmmmmm, those were amazing. I don’t think I have eaten like this in ages! LOL

Remember how I had that icing craving last week? Well, it wouldn’t escape me. So, I made a late night stop at the grocery store for some cupcakes to get my fix. This is my kind of “6 pack.” LOL!!!

The sad part, I ended up eating 5.5 of 6 over the entire weekend. Bad, Bad, Bad!!!!

Do I regret it? No. Sometimes you just need to live a little and give into your cravings. Ahhem, or you end up eating a 6 pack of cupcakes.

The important part is starting fresh. Getting back on track the very next day or very next meal. Whichever comes first. Today, I am doing just that. Let me tell you…I was very ill last night after my indulgence. O*M*G!!!  My body was pretty mad with me and I was in lots of pain. So, I will not being doing that for a very long time.

The point is enjoy life, live it, laugh a lot, and love someone, something, or a lot of someone’s and something’s! It’s a journey people, not just a destination. I finally realize that. Even if I have to keep reminding myself!
